Oxo Can Openers Review

!±8± Oxo Can Openers Review

Oxo is one of the top names when it comes to can openers, and it is also one of the largest selling brands. Most of their models if not all are of the hand held mechanical design. They are the premium segment in can openers if there is something like that, and are the best in the market.

Oxo has a number of models from which you can choose. All of them use the same mechanism to cut into the can, but they all look very different. They have a pliers grip with which you can grip the can, and the mandatory key which you twist to get the opener to cut through the top.

Most of their openers are made of durable plastic and are dishwasher safe too. Basically there is no difference between them and other mechanical can openers in the market. They all follow the same principle which was invented in the 1930's. What sets them apart is their ergonomics; how nicely they are shaped, and how comfortable they are when you hold them.

Most of them cost between and , although there is one model, their magnetic one that costs around more. The reason for this is that this model comes with a magnet that holds the top of the can as it is cut through, so that it does not fall into the can once it is open fully. Secondly, it is much safer to dispose off because you will not even have to lay a finger on it when you do so.

All Oxo products come with their "good grips" trademark which means that the handles are covered with rubber so that you can hold them without it slipping off. Most other openers come with soft plastic covers for their handles that are not as effective. One of the largest issues with regular can openers is the grip. Many people, especially the elderly, have trouble holding onto the opener hard enough for it to grip. This 'Good Grip' technology solves this problem.

If you want a really good mechanical can opener, Oxo is the best that you can get. There are a number of other makes that cost less than an Oxo, but none of them give you the same comfort of use. If just looking at it will not convince you try one out and then see if you don't change your mind or not.
